Alison Doody

Alison Doody is an Irish model and actress. She was born on 11th November 1966. Following her debut in a feature film with a small part in Bond film A View to a Kill (1985) she went on to play Nazi-sympathising archaeologist Elsa Schneider, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). The other roles she played include Siobhan Donavan in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) and Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Doody began modelling after being invited by an experienced photographer. It led to an impressive career as a commercial model. Doody strictly avoided fashion, thongs and glamour when she was modeling. After getting noticed by the directors of casting for a James Bond new film, Doody acted in a tiny part in Jenny Flex as in A View to a Kill. Doody's name was featured in John Willis Screen World Vol. 12 of the most promising actors in 1986. 38. Doody was just aged 18 at the time of her appearance in the Bond character. Today Doody is considered to be the youngest Bond girl. A Prayer for the Dying starring Mickey Rourke also had a role for Doody in the character of IRA Siobhan. Doody had a non-speaking role in the 1987 TV film adaptation The Secret Garden appearing as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias in the movie of his dreams. In a Jim Henson fantasy episode The Storyteller in 1988, Doody played Sapsorrow with John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. She also starred as Pierce Brosnan on the movie Taffin. The most memorable performance to date was her role as Austrian Nazi sympathiser as well as archaeologist Dr. Elsa Schneider opposite Harrison Ford in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Doody is a member of the James Bond family, having played alongside Sean Connery and Jonathan Pryce in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Final Crusade. In 1991 Doody played alongside Jonathan Pryce in British mini-series Selling Hitler inspired by the publication fraud, also known as the Hitler Diaries. Doody later moved to Hollywood. Chosen to replace Cybill Shepherd as the spokeswoman of L'Oreal she was later chosen to appear alongside Charlie Sheen in 1994's Major League II as Flannery his girlfriend and agent. Doody's first appearance on the screen was in 2003. Michael Caine played Doody in the role of a brief. Doody's roles include a TV movie version of King Solomon's Mines in 2004 and a book about the Holocaust and an animated short called Benjamin's Struggle in 2005. In 2010 Doody shot a part of Danny Dyer's movie The Rapture (2010). Doody was a guest on RTE's medical drama The Clinic. The project was eventually canceled. Pam Jefferson is her role in the E4 Comedy Drama Beaver Falls' first of two seasons. In 2014, she was a part of We Still Kill the Old Way. On 21 November 2018 she was honored by the Almeria Tierra de Cine award and she received the honor of a star on the Almeria Walk of Fame.
